The area around Flight Forum is also under development. Flight Forum is one of the five drivers of the Eindhoven Airport District area vision. This vision has determined the challenges for the themes of vitality, sustainability, greening, accessibility, and circular economy. The new heart of the Eindhoven Airport District – formed by the area between the terminal of Eindhoven Airport and the office cluster of Flight Forum – will contribute to a new attractive and green entrance to Eindhoven.
So, what can we expect? In the coming months, we will put a topic from our vision in the spotlight each month. This month, you can read about how Eindhoven Airport District will be developed into an attractive, vibrant, and green entrance to Eindhoven in the coming years.
Eindhoven Airport District will become a vibrant work location with an attractive living environment. The roads, streets, and other public spaces between the buildings will be green and sustainable. There will be room for terraces and shared business gardens. The design of the area will be tailored to the changing climate. In the future, employees and visitors will be able to walk, exercise, and have lunch in the greenery.
The heart of Eindhoven Airport District will be the area between Eindhoven Airport’s terminal and the Flight Forum office cluster. The Luchthavenweg will come alive with shops and restaurants. Near the terminal, there will be a World Trade Center and numerous international companies. Entrepreneurs will develop amenities, including sports facilities, meeting locations, and events that meet the needs of established businesses, temporary residents, and travelers.
These amenities will not only be of great value to Eindhoven Airport District. They will also be important for Brainport Industries Campus and Eindhoven Air Base. International Defense employees and companies from the region will use the amenities.
The Flight Forum office cluster will have a multifunctional character. There will be a mix of offices, businesses, amenities, and short-stay accommodations in a strong and green public space. The new area vision also creates ample opportunities for entrepreneurs to add new functions to the area, such as healthcare, laboratory, and educational functions.
The area will also be strongly connected to the Meerhoven residential area, Brainport Industries Campus, and the rest of Eindhoven Northwest through attractive cycling and walking routes and ecologically designed green structures.
