The latest developments at Flight Forum
The voices of Flight Forum users play a pivotal role in shaping the future of this area. Through the December “oliebollenactie” and the opportunity to leave wishes online, we’ve gathered valuable insights into what the community desires to make Flight Forum even more enjoyable. We extend our gratitude to everyone who took the time to share their wishes with us. Your input is incredibly valuable and empowers us to take targeted steps towards a vibrant and green Flight Forum.
Many of the received wishes revolved around the themes of safety, mobility, and facilities. Safe biking and walking paths, well-marked crossings, more parking spaces and charging stations, additional lunch and shopping amenities, and increased seating areas were central in these wishes.
Most of these themes were already on our radar, aligning seamlessly with the new developments at Flight Forum. In response, we are excited to update you on the ongoing developments.
Mobility
Parking garage at cluster 8
An exciting development is the plan for a new parking garage with a whopping 900 spaces at Cluster 8, adjacent to the DCB Energyhub. Currently, in the preparation phase of the tender, a final investment decision will be made after this stage. The garage won’t just be a practical addition but a sustainable one, equipped with electric vehicle charging stations and a secure crossing for cyclists and pedestrians to the office cluster.
Upon completion, we can transform the current temporary parking spaces into new buildings and green the outer parking ring. This will create more green space for relaxation, recreation, and slow traffic.
Safety for Slow Traffic
We are currently exploring short-term interventions to enhance safety for cyclists and pedestrians on the office cluster, anticipating the greening of the outer ring. We aim to implement concrete measures in the first half of 2024.
Short stay and new facilities
Another significant development is the introduction of short stay facilities at Flight Forum. New short stay buildings will be erected on plots 1, 2, and 3, next to the food trucks. After a careful tender and selection process, we have chosen a party to develop these facilities. The bases of the new buildings will house new amenities that will also benefit all Flight Forum users.
Environment and comfort new square with seating
In the near future, we can anticipate a new square, scheduled to be completed by early 2024. Designed for comfort and greenery, this square will provide additional seating, making it an ideal spot for meetings and relaxation.
Future perspectives
In addition to ongoing projects, we will continue actively listening to the wishes of Flight Forum users. Further improvements and future developments remain subjects of continuous evaluation, with the goal of allowing Flight Forum to thrive as a sustainable and pleasant place to work and stay.
